Application and Opportunity of Web 2.0 - Data Archive Interface (DAIv2)
The (
DAIv2) provides access to the GPS data archive. The application leverages
Web 2.0 techniques, such as fluid interaction affordances and mashups (embedded Google Maps). We are now considering what it would mean for introduce a social (or "user as producer") dimension to that application. As the domain is still very new to me, this will require much more learning on my part.
There is some interest within this particular scientific community as is evidence in this recent event announcement to the community's major annual event, an upcoming conference of the American Geophysical Union (AGU 2009):
