1: 2: 1.1.1 Wiki Page for David Diez' Talk 3: 4: 1.1.1.1 The ComBLA Method. The application of Domain Analysis principles to the Instructional Engineering context 5: 6: 1.1.1.1 Abstract 7: Domain Analysis (DA) is a common activity within software engineering conceived to 8: ease reusability and to facilitate the communication among different actors. This 9: methodology allows a priori-scoping of the problem by identifying those elements or 10: areas of interest that determine the development process of domain systems. The 11: ultimate purpose of DA is to treat systems of the domain as a whole that permits the 12: reuse of components and experiences. With the purpose of improving the development 13: of courseware, my PhD Thesis postulates an analysis method based on applying DA 14: principles to the instructional context. In this presentation, I will expose the main 15: characteristics of my research work, the results of applying this methodology to the 16: development of computer-based learning systems, and the enumeration of such 17: drawbacks and shortcoming that I have identified along my PhD Thesis. In addition, I 18: will talk about the research work that would want to tackle during my stay at L3D. 19: 20: 1.1.1.1 Slides 21: Please find the slides attached {attach:here|slides.pdf}. 22: 23: 1.1.1.1 Bio 24: David Díez Cebollero received his PhD in Computer Science (2009) from the 25: Universidad Carlos III of Madrid. He also holds a Computer Science 26: Degree (1998) from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a MSc in 27: Computer Science and Technology (2007) from the Universidad Carlos III 28: of Madrid. In addition, David is a Sun Certified Enterprise Architect 29: (SCEA) and has different certifications in software development. 30: David Díez was born in Madrid in 1976. After finishing his higher 31: education, he worked in software development for almost a decade. 32: David worked as a software engineer and project manager for different 33: international software companies. From 2003 to 2005, he was hired as 34: tenured associated teacher by the Computer Science Department at 35: Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, synchronizing his professional and 36: academic careers. Finally, in 2005, he enrolled as a teacher assistant 37: in the DEI Laboratory research group at that university. 38: 39: His research interests are technology support for learning systems, 40: teaching programming and Software Engineering. He has just started 41: different investigations about User-Centered Design and Web 42: Development, and their application in Emergency Management Information 43: Systems.
